The 2027 Legislative Briefing & Fly-In will be held April 13-14 in Washington, D.C. The ATSSA Legislative Briefing & Fly-In focuses on timely and pressing federal policy issues that have an impact on America’s roadway safety infrastructure policy at all levels. This annual event offers ATSSA members the unique opportunity to interact with high-level policymakers, members of congress and congressional staff, and hear from department of transportation (DOT) officials.

Washington, D.C. offers unparalleled access to influential decision makers. The ATSSA Legislative Briefing & Fly-In addresses vital federal policies impacting U.S. roadway safety infrastructure, providing ATSSA members a distinct chance to engage with top policymakers, congress members, their staff and DOT officials.

In addition to making a difference at the federal level, ATSSA also works to advance roadway safety through grassroots efforts. Working with local ATSSA chapters, the Association's State Government Relations staff is here to help you meet with state elected officials and have your voice heard.

2026 Legislative
Briefing Recap

Breaking another record, over 150 ATSSA members, including 57 first timers, attended the 2026 Legislative Briefing, which was held on April 14 at the Courtyard Washington Downtown. Attendees heard directly from members of Congress and federal policymakers on the legislation and regulations directly impacting our industry. Members of Congress also joined attendees at an evening reception benefiting the ATSSA PAC.

ATSSA members across the U.S. accomplished more than 170 congressional meetings with their representatives and congressional staff on Capitol Hill on April 15—an impressive and impactful turnout!
