ATSSA’s Flagger Handbook is intended to assist flaggers in understanding their duties to protect project personnel and provide safe, courteous and authoritative directions to work zone traffic. Color illustrations are included in the 5.5 x 8.5″ pocket guides. Covered topics include: 11th Edition MUTCD Section 6D – Flagger Control (Washington state-specific covers 2009 MUTCD Section 6E, Flagging Operations), flagger equipment, flagger position, stopping and releasing traffic, one-way and two-way traffic, traffic control a intersections, flagging for pilot car operation, rules of conduct, and emergency procedures.
