Summer issue of Roadway Safety reveals tenacity needed for legislative change

Work zone risks and use of autonomous TMAs also examined in magazine now online

Industry advocates need persistence to achieve changes in state laws to better protect the men and women employed in work zones as recent efforts in Pennsylvania show.

The Summer issue of Roadway Safety magazine documents the years-long efforts by the team at W.D. Wright Contracting Inc., which began working for changes after the death in 2020 of an employee who worked as a flagger.

The Summer issue details the efforts and frustrations experienced by the W.D. Wright Contracting team as it has sought to address the need for additional laws.

The new issue of Roadway Safety magazine also recaps the latest ATSSA Legislative Briefing & Fly-In on Capitol Hill where members directly sought further federal legislative support for the roadway safety infrastructure industry.
