Election 2024 holds far-reaching implications for transportation funding

Fall issue of Roadway Safety offers insights on what to watch as events unfold

After months of election news continually grabbing headlines, Election Day is nearly here but the impact on the roadway safety infrastructure industry will still be weeks away.

ATSSA Vice President of Government Relations Cameron Greene offers insights on what the outcome of the races for the White House, Senate and House of Representatives could mean for the industry and, specifically, for transportation funding.

In the Fall issue of Roadway Safety, he discusses how the Infrastructure Investment & Jobs Act (IIJA) will come into play and reminds us of how the votes that led to its passage reverberated for some politicians.

He also reviews what the outcome of the Nov. 5 races will have on the next highway bill and the importance of which party holds control in both houses of Congress for leadership in key committees including the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee (T&I) and the Senate Environment & Public Works Committee (EPW).
