Two from ATSSA recognized among ‘Top 25 Under Forty’

ATSSA Chair-Elect Haley Murphy and ATSSA Vice President of Government Relations Cameron Greene were recognized today among the top 25 leaders under age 40 in the roads and bridges construction industry by Roads & Bridges magazine.

This is the magazine’s first year offering the “Top 25 Under Forty” recognition. It “honors the young visionaries, innovators and leaders shaping the roads and bridges construction industry” and includes an article on each person.

Haley Murphy

Murphy is a second-generation co-owner of Direct Traffic Control in Muskogee, Okla., a Native American owned business focused on highway safety. She is an advocate of the Toward Zero Deaths initiative who champions funding and awareness for lifesaving infrastructure improvements.

In 2025, she testified before the House Transportation & Infrastructure Committee’s Subcommittee on Highways & Transit offering insights as Congress began exploring needs for the next surface transportation bill.

Murphy “brings a collaborative, solutions-driven mindset to every space she enters—whether it’s her company, a committee room or a congressional hearing,” according to the nomination provided by ATSSA President & CEO Stacy Tetschner. “Within her organization, she cultivates a workplace culture that prioritizes safety innovation and employee engagement, encouraging her team to take ownership of their role in protecting lives on the road. Her leadership has led to more proactive safety practices and stronger internal alignment with national roadway safety goals.”

During her tenure in the roadway safety infrastructure industry, Murphy has worked tirelessly to advance roadway safety through participation in several significant roles within ATSSA. She is a member of the Board of Directors and in February becomes its chair. In addition, she completed ATSSA’s Leadership Program and has served as president of the Oklahoma ATSSA Chapter (OK-ATSSA), and on the Chapter Presidents’ Council, Operating Committee, Member Engagement Committee, PAC Oversight Committee, and as a friend of the Government Relations Committee, Roadway Worker Protection Council and Women in Roadway Safety Council.

Cameron Greene

Greene leads ATSSA’s advocacy efforts at the state and federal levels from ATSSA’s Washington, D.C. office, located just blocks from Congressional offices. He guides Capitol Hill advocacy, working nonstop to advance national efforts to secure funding for roadway safety infrastructure, championing cutting-edge roadway technologies and strengthening protection for workers and motorists in work zones.

Like Murphy, his overarching focus is working Toward Zero Deaths on America’s roads. He pursues this by direct contacts as well as forging strategic partnerships, including working with the National Asphalt Pavement Association (NAPA) to create the Work Zone Safety Coalition, a group formed to address a topic often overlooked on Capitol Hill as far as legislation. Its goal is to see work zone safety improved through legislative language in the next highway bill.

“Cameron is driving meaningful change and positioning roadway safety as a central pillar of national infrastructure policy,” ATSSA Leadership said as part of its nomination.

Greene’s role in public service began in the offices of Sen. Sheldon Whitehouse and Rep. David Cicilline, where he championed issues close to his Rhode Island roots. Today, he brings that same passion and policy expertise to the national stage, driving meaningful change in transportation safety.
