Enter your market-ready innovations in NPRO 2026

Apply by Nov. 1 for Expo exposure and Innovation Award competition

ATSSA’s New Products Rollout (NPRO) provides a showcase for the latest tools and technologies for advancing roadway safety to be seen by thousands of people including scores of public agency officials.

The 2026 NPRO will be held during ATSSA’s 56th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo in Houston, Feb. 20-24. The application period is now open with entries due by Nov. 1.

Products will be limited to 20 entries with up to 15 qualifying for the NPRO Tour, being held again for 2026. Public agency officials can register to take part in the NPRO Tour where they will visit the booths and interact with representatives from the presenting companies.

Entrants that choose to compete for the coveted Innovation Award will be evaluated by a panel of judges made up of department of transportation (DOT) and public agency personnel from across the country.

“Public agency officials have emphasized the value of seeing firsthand products that are ready for deployment on our roadways,” said ATSSA Innovation & Technical Services Manager Nagham Matout El-Zine. “We look forward to seeing the latest innovative ideas for advancing roadway safety in the 2026 NPRO.”

Products vying for an Innovation Award are evaluated on criteria in four categories:

  • Provides an overall innovation for the roadway safety infrastructure industry;
  • Solves a current issue in the roadway safety infrastructure industry;
  • Has unique safety qualities;
  • Innovativeness and applicability of the design.

Companies can submit up to two products for NPRO and must include an informational video as part of the application. Products must be market ready and have been introduced to the marketplace after Jan. 1, 2024.

Examples of previously submitted NPRO entries along with their videos are available online.

Judges will select a winner of the 2026 Innovation Award and up to three honorable mentions. A representative for those products will then have the privilege of discussing the product’s features during a Micro Session on the Traffic Expo floor during the Convention.

“Companies and public agency officials alike look forward to this unique opportunity each year,” El-Zine said. “ATSSA’s Annual Convention & Traffic Expo offers exceptional exposure for products being introduced into the marketplace that help solve problems being faced on roadways across the country.”

ATSSA’s 2025 Convention & Traffic Expo brought together roadway safety infrastructure industry members from across the globe and saw a record-setting crowd of nearly 4,600. In addition, more than 260 exhibitors filled the 300,000-square-foot Traffic Expo floor at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, Fla.

The 2026 Convention & Traffic Expo takes place at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

Apply by Nov. 1 to enter the New Products Rollout for 2026.
