WASHINGTON – ATSSA leaders met with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy today to discuss their shared interest in advancing roadway and work zone safety across the nation, as well as ways to ensure innovative roadway safety products and devices can get out to our roadways in a timely manner.

ATSSA Board Chair Mike Hare, Chair-Elect Haley Murphy and Board members David Krahulec and Scott Marion traveled to Washington to represent ATSSA along with President & CEO Stacy Tetschner and Vice President of Government Relations Cameron Greene.

“We appreciated the opportunity to meet with Transportation Secretary Duffy today amid the many demands he faces in overseeing safe travel across the country,” Hare said. “We were thankful for the time to discuss key issues including the importance of getting innovative products that can help save lives on the nation’s roadways through the approval process faster without sacrificing necessary safeguards.”

ATSSA looks forward to working with the United States Department of Transportation (USDOT) and federal legislators as the process moves forward for developing the next surface transportation bill and other efforts.

“We share the goal of saving lives on our nation’s roadways and look forward to future conversations on the ways to help move us Toward Zero Deaths through both roadway safety infrastructure projects, and the deployment of innovative roadway safety products,” Tetschner said.
