ATSSA launches Young Professionals & Emerging Leaders Council

ATSSA will hold its inaugural meeting of the Young Professionals & Emerging Leaders Council at its 56th Annual Convention & Traffic Expo in February.

“The new council reflects a growing interest that began in 2017 and aligns with ATSSA’s goal of expanding opportunities for emerging leaders in the Association,” said ATSSA Vice President of Member Engagement Pamala Bouchard. “We are excited to take this formal step during this year’s Convention & Traffic Expo and for the opportunities this will provide to young industry professionals who have much to contribute to the roadway safety infrastructure industry.”

ATSSA’s 2026 Convention & Traffic Expo takes place Feb. 20-24 at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston.

The Young Professionals & Emerging Leaders (YP&EL) Council provides a structured platform for emerging leaders to connect, grow and contribute to the Association’s future. It reinforces ATSSA’s commitment to engaging young professionals through the four pillars of Advocacy, Volunteering, Professional Development and Networking.

Some young professionals have already taken advantage of the opportunity to participate in ATSSA’s Roadway Safety Leadership Academy, which began last summer and will conclude at the Association’s Legislative Briefing & Fly-In.

The YP&EL Council is open to individuals age 40 or younger who work for an ATSSA member company. The Council provides opportunities for meaningful meeting and networking opportunities, peer and leadership mentoring, chapter-level opportunities, leadership and professional training opportunities and employer engagement strategies.
