Trottenberg confirmed as deputy secretary of transportation

The Senate today confirmed Polly Tottenberg as deputy secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation (USDOT).

Trottenberg previously served as New York City Department of Transportation Commissioner, and prior to that, was Under Secretary of Transportation for Policy during the Obama administration.

ATSSA President & CEO Stacy Tetschner congratulated Trottenberg on her confirmation.

“Congratulations to Deputy Secretary Trottenberg on her confirmation," Tetschner said. "ATSSA looks forward to working with her and her team at USDOT to reduce fatalities and serious injuries on U.S. roadways toward zero deaths. We’re committed to working with the administration and Congress to ensure that roadway safety is a cornerstone of the next transportation authorization and the forthcoming infrastructure package.”

Trottenberg was confirmed by an 82-15 vote.
