ATSSA launches new Traffic Signals unit

Leader in roadway safety infrastructure industry launches new membership segment

The American Traffic Safety Services Association (ATSSA), continuing in its role as the leader in roadway safety infrastructure, has established a Traffic Signals Unit membership category.

According to ATSSA Vice President of Member Services Donna Clark, ATSSA is moving forward with new partnerships with traffic signal manufacturers and installers to position itself as a representative of all areas related to the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), a publication that establishes standards and requirements for roadway safety infrastructure devices.

Clark expressed the importance of having representation for traffic signal manufacturers and installers in a transportation landscape that is adapting to rapidly growing technology and a future with Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) on our roadways.

"As CAV technology advances, it will be important to speak with one voice by representing all traffic safety devices, roadside infrastructure, pavement markings, and all things that relate to roadway safety," Clark said. "The only way to properly and advantageously do that is to be uniform and truly speak for the entire roadway safety industry."

For more information about the unit or to submit your company for ATSSA’s Traffic Signals Unit membership, contact Clark at donna.clark@atssa.com.
