ATSSA Town Hall on infrastructure package set for Nov. 18

ATSSA will host a Town Hall next Thursday to discuss the bipartisan infrastructure package recently approved by both houses of Congress.

The Town Hall will be led by ATSSA Vice President of Engagement Nate Smith and answer the question: What does it mean for ATSSA members?

Smith, who leads ATSSA's Government Relations Team from its office on Capitol Hill, will provide a briefing on the bipartisan Infrastructure Investment and Jobs Act (IIJA), explain what it means for ATSSA members and provide information on how it is expected to impact roadway safety over the next five years.

The Senate approved the IIJA in August and the House of Representatives approved it late Friday. President Joe Biden is expected to sign the legislation on Monday.

The $1.2 trillion infrastructure package represents the largest investment in America’s roads and infrastructure since President Dwight Eisenhower, with $304 billion marked for roads, bridges and safety. Within that $304 billion, more than $22 billion is allocated for roadway safety infrastructure, including a significant increase to the Highway Safety Improvement Program (HSIP) over the funding levels in the Fixing America's Surface Transportation (FAST) Act.

Register now for next Thursday’s 2 p.m. ET event, which is free to all ATSSA members.
