ATSSA members march toward the future at 2018 Midyear Meeting in Williamsburg, Virginia

Registration is now open for ATSSA’s 2018 Midyear Meeting, happening August 22-24 in Williamsburg, Virginia.

ATSSA members from across the country will gather at the Williamsburg Lodge to participate in association committee and council meetings in a joint effort to make their voices heard and help shape the future of the roadway safety industry, while focusing on the goal of moving Toward Zero Deaths on the nation’s roadways.

In addition to the committee and council meetings planned, Midyear will have several opportunities for like-minded ATSSA members from across the country to connect and get involved.

To further the knowledge exchange between ATSSA and the Automotive Safety Council (ASC), a member-only roundtable will be held on August 22 at 7:30 a.m. ATSSA’s technical committees, ATSSA Director of New Programs Brian Watson and a representative from ASC will participate in a discussion on machine vision as it relates to roadway safety infrastructure, including lidar, radar, and on-board camera systems. To learn more or RSVP for the roundtable, contact Watson at brian.watson@atssa.com.

On August 23, ATSSA will be hosting the first-ever annual Twisted Bowling Tournament at Midyear from 7 to 10 p.m. at Williamsburg Lanes. The event, named for its "twisted" scoring system, is being sponsored by the Chesapeake and Virginia ATSSA Chapters, with all proceeds benefiting The Foundation. The tournament costs $50 per person to participate and all are welcome to form their own five-person teams, or ATSSA will form a team for you. The event will be a fun way to get engaged with other ATSSA members and support The Foundation’s work in assisting the families of those fallen or injured in work zone crashes.

In addition to participating, sponsorships for the tournament are also available, the proceeds of which will be used to support The Foundation. The sponsorships provide visibility and recognition of your role as a committed ATSSA member. To learn more about sponsorship opportunities, click here. For more information on the bowling tournament, contact memberservices@atssa.com.

ATSSA members are invited to attend a reception for the ATSSA PAC on August 22 at 6:00PM EST to support ATSSA’s advocacy work and commitment to candidates and elected officials who understand the importance of roadway safety infrastructure. The reception will provide ATSSA’s Government Relations team with an opportunity to share information on the ATSSA PAC and how members’ participation assists with the association’s goal of advocating for policies that eliminate fatalities and serious injuries on the nation’s roadways. To learn more or RSVP, contact ATSSA Vice President of Government Relations Nate Smith at Nate.smith@atssa.com. For more information or questions, you may contact ATSSA’s Government Relations department at govrelations@atssa.com.

One event during Midyear that will also be open to non-members is the Signals Open Forum, where a discussion will be held about potentially working with traffic signal manufacturers and opening up the industry segment to ATSSA membership. The forum will take place on August 24 at 8:30 a.m. To receive more information or RSVP for the forum, contact ATSSA Vice President of Members Services Donna Clark at donna.clark@atssa.com.

Registration for Midyear opens Monday, May 7. For more information about Midyear or registering to attend, click here.
