As a member of ATSSA, you may be contacted by outside housing companies to secure hotel reservations for our 40th Annual Convention and Traffic Expo February 14 – 18, 2010 in San Antonio. These companies are not affiliated or working in partnership with ATSSA, and reservations made through these companies for our meeting cannot be guaranteed. ATSSA's official housing company is Registration Head Quarters (RHQ), and they are the only company that can guarantee your reservation in San Antonio for the Annual Convention and Traffic Expo. Making your reservation in the ATSSA room block also enables us to fulfill our contracts with the local hotels, and helps ensure that the Annual Convention and Traffic Expo is a success. Pennsylvania Congressman Jason Altmire Confirmed as Opening General Session Featured Guest Speaker

Congressman Jason Altmire (D-Pa.) is the confirmed featured guest speaker for ATSSA’s 40th Opening General Session on Tuesday, February 16, 2010 in San Antonio, Texas. The event begins at 9:30 a.m. Congressman Altmire introduced H.R. 3355 – the “Older Driver and Pedestrian Safety and Roadway Enhancement Act of 2009” – which would direct the Secretary of Transportation to carry out a program to improve roadway safety infrastructure in all States to enhance the safety of older drivers and pedestrians. In early October, Congressman Altmire delivered a floor speech in which he encouraged support of the bill, citing low-cost safety solutions including “signs with more legible font, retro-reflective sheeting and retro-reflective pavement markings, left turn lanes at intersections and improved sign placement to ensure that drivers have adequate time to make informed decisions on the road.” To view the floor speech video click here.
