Course Description

This course examines the Manual on Uniform Traffic Control Devices (MUTCD), its content, and its applicability to streets open to the public in the United States, including private streets. The course is intended to help participants become aware of the need for uniformity of traffic control devices, why the MUTCD was developed, its legal requirements, and related liability. Emphasis will be given to temporary traffic control (TTC). Upon completion, students will be familiar with the manual and its application.


Prerequisites & State-Specific Information

Previous experience with the MUTCD or TTC is not required for this course. This course is not state-specific.
