Course Description

One day/8 hours; Classroom Course; Open, Closed or Co-sponsored Option*

ATSSA is an approved provider for the Florida Department of Transportation Advanced Maintenance of Traffic course.

This course provides an overview of the Florida Advanced training course with concentration on the applicable changes that have occurred in the most recent four years to the Design Standards, Part 6 of the MUTCD, Plans Preparation Manual, Construction Project Administration Manual, and Standard Specifications for Road and Bridge Construction.

Refresher courses are required every four years for all persons to continue to be qualified to perform their assigned duties. Persons who have maintained current certification from an approved provider may take a training or refresher course to comply with this procedure.

Prerequisites & State-Specific Information

Passing the Florida Advanced Training course is a prerequisite to register for this course.

To pass this Florida Advanced Refresher course, students must receive a 70% or better on the examination.

Intended Audience: refresher for personnel that work on state roads in the State of Florida with responsibility or authority to decide on the specific maintenance of traffic requirements to be implemented

CEUs: 0.75 (Approved by the Florida Board of Professional Engineers)

Certification Information

Upon completion and passing of the examination (with a 70% or better), students will be re-certified for another 4 years at the Florida DOT Advanced level and flagging operations will be covered in enough detail so that a person who successfully completes this course will be capable of providing basic flagging training in the State of Florida.
