The Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship Program

It happens to the best in the business. Every year, everywhere, even the most conscientious roadway professionals face their worst nightmare: having a worker killed or permanently disabled in a work zone accident.

What will the future bring for those who counted on that worker for their bread and butter? Life will continue for those workers’ children or dependents. The American Traffic Safety Services Foundation will help ensure that their dreams will continue as well.

Children of workers killed or permanently disabled in work zone accidents are eligible for the Foundation's annual scholarships in support of higher education (college or vocational). Parents with custody or legal guardianship of surviving children are also eligible.

The Foundation has awarded 43 scholarships to 25 students since 2002. If you know someone who is eligible for the scholarship, encourage them to apply by downloading the Roadway Worker Memorial Scholarship below. Please complete and submit the required documents to the Foundation.
