ATSSA and the Foundation: Working Together To Make Zero Deaths A Reality

The American Traffic Safety Services Foundation (The Foundation) exists to promote roadway safety through charitable giving and public awareness programs.

Through activities of the Foundation, roadway safety has become a cultural priority. The public is aware of the need for roadway safety. Fallen workers are not forgotten and their families are supported. Decision-makers are motivated to invest in sustaining our message and advancing our mission. Improved safety on our roadways has resulted in a decline in work zone injuries and deaths.

Since its inception in 1988, the Foundation has been passionate about assisting others. The Foundation works for a future in which improvements in work zone safety mean no workers names need to be added to the National Work Zone Memorial and no scholarships need to be given to their surviving dependents.

Toward Zero Deaths: The Foundation advances programs that bring drivers to the table to address work zone death and injury.

Toward Zero Scholarships: The Foundation provides scholarships for loved ones of fallen worker until we can reduce the number of work zone deaths.

Toward Zero Names: The Foundation offers the National Work Zone Memorial honoring lives lost in work zones to help make fatalities "real" to policy makers and drivers.
