Pavement Marking Exemption

ATSSA is pleased to announce that our members have been granted an U.S.-DOT exemption from regulation 49 CFR § 173.242(b), for the use of non-DOT specification cargo tanks in pavement marking equipment. The DOT has announced that, to cut down on the thousands of special permit applications per year, the exemption is one of six special permits that has been incorporated into Federal Hazardous Materials regulations.

The final rule became effective 30 days after the date of the publication in the Federal Register, which was scheduled for publication on February 1, 2011.
