Wisconsin Work Zone Safety Awareness
Week Kick-off Event
April 15, 2013 at 10:30 a.m. in
the Eau Clair County Highway Department Area
Speakers to include Wisconsin DOT Secretary Mark Gottlieb and Wisconsin State Patrol
Major Jeffrey Frenette, commander of the NE Region - Equ Claire and Spooners Posts.
Eau Claire Highway Department and Bess Crowley, President Crowley Construction
Corp. have also been invited to speak.
H.R. 3355 will work to reduce roadway deaths involving older
Americans.
The bill authorizes $500 million annually, and those funds can be used to make improvements
such as signs with clear view fonts and retroreflective sheeting, retroreflective
pavement markings, and left turn lanes, among others.
